Zac Payne

21 years old.

Zac is 2015 British men's champion, 2016 South and South West champion, he represented Great Britain four times, represented England twice and is the 1st team manager alongside Geoff Gamage, Club coach.

'I started cycle speedway when I was 14 and just went along with a friend one time for a laugh and I've been doing it ever since. What I love about the Hammers is that it's like another family! It's a local club to myself I've always ridden for Horspath and always will do, it's in my blood! I love helping others around the club especially the young ones and seeing their improvements into teams and junior leagues.'

Will Jeffery
15 years old.

'I started cycle speedway in 2014 where I raced 2nd team South West. I have now progressed into the 1st team where I race alongside very experienced riders. I raced under 17's junior league and finish 2nd overall in the under 17's South and South West category. 5th in the Under 16's British championship Riders rider 2016 season. Part of the 2016 elite league winning team. My highlight of 2016 was being a part of the elite league winning team and the final meeting at Wednesfield with the atmosphere in the pits!'

Alex Matthews
20 years old.

'My love for motorcycle speedway and wanting to stay active in a fun and exciting way. I like the constant drive for victory no matter who we're racing against.'

James Collier
'I started riding for Swindon at the end of 2011 then moved to Horspath in 2015. The reason I joined Horspath is because they are the best team in the country. I race in the over 40s British Championships and also do the Euro Vets as well.'

Nathan Loveridge
11 years old. 13 August 2005

'I started riding in May 2014. I got into cycle speedway as two of my cousins, Lee and Wayne Clarke ride. I enjoy the sport as it's very different from when I play football. I am also well known for being flag marshal and in 2015 I led the British ladies and mens team out at Horspath in the Cycle Speedway Ashes.'

Ross Loveridge
15 years old. 4 August 2001

'I started riding in March 2016. I got into cycle speedway as my young brother Nathan two of my cousins, Lee and Wayne Clarke ride. I enjoy riding for the Hammers because they are a great bunch of lads and I like the challenges the sport brings.'

Jack Ellis
15 years old. 27 January 2002.

'I started riding in September 2015. I got into cycle speedway as my dad used to ride for the Hammers when he was my age and he said "why dont you give it ago" so I did and I really enjoy it. It's a good team sport I like the competitiveness and it's physically challenging. My highlight of 2016 was winning the under 14s regional final at Underwood, Newport - finally beating season long rival Danny Byrne of Poole!
